Computer Safety Tips, How to Place a Credit Freeze on Your Account. Jeff Wilkinson, President, Sun City Summerlin Computer Club. A credit freeze is one of the most critical steps to protect yourself from identity thieves by opening credit accounts in your name. A freeze prohibits consumer credit reporting agencies from disclosing the contents of a credit report to any person requesting the data. Without that credit file, lenders generally will not extend credit to you – or anyone claiming to be you.

Microsoft Backup Solutions. Bill James, VP, Computer Club of Oklahoma City. Windows backup solutions are built-in tools provided by Microsoft and are available on Windows 10 and 11. In this presentation, Bill will discuss and demonstrate the advantages of the built-in and how each one is suited to different needs, ranging from basic file backups to comprehensive system imaging and cloud-based backups. For those inclined towards modern solutions, cloud-based backups offer seamless integration with the cloud, providing off-site storage and the advantage of accessibility from any location with Internet connectivity. By comparing these approaches, Bill aims to empower users to make informed decisions on how to best protect their digital lives against data loss, system failures, or cyber threats.

We look forward to seeing you this Wednesday.
